Adopt a Student

The Mother Agata Carelli Formation Center in Togo assists young women who desire to learn a profession---tailoring, hairdressing, beauticians, or secretarial. As part of the professional course, the school integrates cultural, human, and spiritual formation.

But many students cannot afford the school fees. You can help one of these students by ‘adopting’ her for the time of her course.

Tailoring, Hairdressing, and Beauticians. The annual cost for school fees and materials is $180. These programs take three years to complete.

Secretarial. The annual cost for the secretarial course is $720. This includes a supplement for teacher salaries. The cost is high because the teachers are professionals who teach at the local university. The rate, however, is still less than the fees charged by many  private institutions or the university for the same course. The program takes two years to complete. At the end of the program, the students can take the standard national exam for certification.

Hostel. The Canossian Formation Center also offers students the option to live at a school hostel so they can concentrate on their studies in a quiet environment and can form strong relationships with other students and the school staff. The annual cost for the hostel (food and lodging included) is $300.
